When I look in the program files dir (C:\Program Files\SteelSeries\SteelSeries Engine 3) there are lots of newly added files and dirs.Īlso, my computer did an update unknowing to me and installed 2 new Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable updates which does look as though they impact: " xec: "C:\Program Files\SteelSeries\SteelSeries Engine 3\driver\win_driver_installer" -installPath="C:\Program Files\SteelSeries\SteelSeries Engine 3" -u -new -progressStart=45 -progressEnd=55 " When I run this install file it hits the: I uninstalled the app and downloaded the SteelSeriesEngine3.19.0Setup.exe and tried to install this one to see if it fixed things. Normally the app would open and I would see the Steel Series UI and my headset UI connected.īut all that happened is the new SteelSeries * exe (cannot remember the full name now), started running in the background again, and started to take up memory again. Then after that I could not run the actual Steel Series software from my programs. I stopped that running and my computer calmed down. I then saw that a new SteelSeries * exe was running in systems manager, in the background taking up memory. A week or so ago I noticed that my computer was working overtime for no apparent reason. I'm having the very same problem on my Windows 7 machine.
